Every single temple has in the front engraved in stone HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
This is because the temple is sacred and any one who enters should be striving to remain worthy or Holy to be able to visit the Lord in his house.
We have been taught that our bodies are a temple also and that we should treat it with the same respect we have for the Temple. So if our bodies are like the temple, lets see what the Church leaders remind us of of the many blessings that the temple brings us and how it compares to our lives:
“I promise you that the Lord will bring the miracles He knows you need as you make sacrifices to serve and worship in His temples.”
—President Russell M. Nelson
—President Russell M. Nelson
If we selflessly serve others, sacrifice our time for others, We become instruments in the Lords hands and are able to heal and bring miracles to other peoples lives. Through our example and our compassionate actions we can bring healing and uplifting to peoples heart, make them feel the spirit of the Lord the way its felt at the Temple.
Elder Gary E. Stevenson: “You are never lost when you can see the temple.”
The temple lifts us, exalts us, stands as a beacon for all to see.”
When we are following the Lord we will always have our sense of direction because the Holy Sprit will guide us and we will be able to lead other people with our light and example.
“Every foundation stone that is laid for a Temple...lessens the power of Satan on the earth.”
—President George Q. Cannon
—President George Q. Cannon
Even in times of trials and tribulations, if we remain faithful our spirituality will remain strong like the foundations of a Temple. Satan will have no power over us.
“As you contribute to this sacred work, your knowledge and faith in the Savior will increase.”
—Elder Neil L. Andersen
The more we get closer to our Heavenly Father the more we will get to know him
“The temple brings peace to our souls—not the peace provided by men but the peace promised by the Son of God.”
—President Thomas S. Monson
—President Thomas S. Monson
Living a temple worthy life brings peace to our souls.
In conclusion, the temple stands as a sacred symbol of our commitment to God, reminding us of the holiness we should strive for in our daily lives. As we align our actions with the covenants made within its walls, we invite the Lord's presence into our hearts and homes. By treating our bodies as temples and living in accordance with divine principles, we not only draw nearer to our Heavenly Father but also become instruments in His hands to bless others. The peace, guidance, and strength found in temple worship can permeate every aspect of our lives, leading us on a path of righteousness and eternal joy.
